My name is Abbey Lawson and I am Trust Director for History.

Why is History important to me?

History means a lot to me as it has always been my favourite subject. I remember being inspired by the fascinating individuals and events I learned about throughout my own education. I want to inspire our children's curiosity to learn about the past and how it impacts us today in the present.

What is the Trust vision for History?

The vision for history within Eden Academy Trust is to stimulate the children's curiosity and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world.  We enable children to develop a context for their growing sense of identity and a chronological framework for their knowledge of significant events and people. We want children to become historians and use their knowledge and skills to investigate the past and how it has impacted us today and in the future.
